I look forward to the lecture and Round Table Discussion on New Concepts in Nocturia, i.e., nightly awakenings due to the need to void. The session, chaired by Professor of Urology Marcus Drake, will cover both mechanisms of nocturia and practical measures you might take to ameliorate its consequences, such as the increased risk of falls at night. Nocturia is especially relevant to Wellspect’s recent therapeutic expansion with the Surity portfolio involving external catheters aimed particularly at this condition.

In addition, I will personally attend the Scientific Podium Short Oral Session S27 on Quality of Life, led by Urologist Dr Jamie Drossaerts and Dr Helena C Frawley. The session covers 12 studies on various topics, including treatments such as irrigation and catheterisation and their impact on quality of life, something we always strive to optimise for our users.

I will personally attend the Bowel Dysfunction Scientific Podium Short Oral Session. I’m especially looking forward to Tanzeela Gala’s presentation on barriers to rectal irrigation, as understanding the practical, emotional and social factors that influence the initiation and long-term use of TAI is highly relevant to our work at Wellspect.

I look forward to attending Current Innovations in Management of Faecal Incontinence, chaired by Alex Digesu and Emma Carrington. I’m particularly interested in how different disciplines approach treatment selection and emerging technologies, and where therapies such as transanal irrigation (TAI) could fit within increasingly patient-centred bowel care pathways.

Another session that I look forward to attending is the Sustainability in Continence Care, led by Sanne Jansen, Lauren Bullens, Angie Rantell and Evelyn Verheijen. Working with medical devices, I think it will be particularly valuable to explore how sustainability can be incorporated into continence care while continuing to prioritise clinical outcomes and individual patient needs.
