At Wellspect’s headquarters, more than five hundred people work in different departments and functions. All in all, more than a thousand people work at Wellspect in different areas all around the world.
The company headquarters are situated in a vibrant new area in Mölndal, near Gothenburg on the Swedish west coast called GoCo Health Innovation City. It brings together world-leading companies specializing in life science, and well-known for being on the forefront of clinical research, sustainability and innovation.

Research & Development
The Research and Development-function, often abbreviated R&D, is responsible for making sure that the products and services that we provide constantly evolve, but also stay compliant to rules and regulations in a world where the conditions constantly change.
Julia
Originally born in St Peterburg, Russia into a family of engineers, Julia Gutman decided early not to pursue the family career path. However as she grew older in Sweden, her interest in math and chemistry increased. Suddenly a career in engineering seemed like a viable option.
Martin
Biomaterial sciences fascinate Martin Nyman, who studied Engineering Biology at university and did his Master’s thesis at Wellspect in 1999 (in those days Astra Tech). And has remained with us ever since! “If I were to go back to university, I would gladly do the same again”, Martin says.
Elin
Meet Elin Johansson, a biomedical engineer turned Technical Product Manager at Wellspect. Elin's journey reflects her commitment to growth. She thrives on diverse challenges, collaborative work and finds joy in contributing to life-changing experiences for users of our products.
Manufacturing & Supply Chain
With its around 600 Wellspecters, Manufacturing & Supply chain is the largest function within our organization. Securing an efficient, on demand production and delivery From two sites, one in Mölndal, Sweden (400 employees) and one in Kazan, Türkiye (200 employees), this function’s main purpose is to make sure that our products are produced and delivered on time.
Jakob
No two production locations are alike, as Jakob Rosengren, Maintenance and Operating Technician, discovered when he joined Wellspect in 2022. Here, he puts on his clean room attire before entering the manufacturing area, where his packaging machine is working around the clock.
Ulrica
It is mind-blowing to understand how much our products mean to our users and how they can change their lives for the better, says Ulrica Pennbrant. She started working within Urology Production in 1997, at a time when the company was expanding rapidly.
Jerry

Business Development
Our colleagues in the business development team are working tirelessly to make way for new opportunities for growth through expanding our scope, increase collaborations and find new business models, so that we as a company can venture into new areas. A big part of the day-to-day work is to gather and analyze strategic information related to the context that we operate in.
Patrik
A typical day at work doesn’t exist for Patrik Rönegård, who claims he needs to have a little understanding of a lot, in his role as Business Development Manager. His main task is to comprehend the opportunities and risks of potential new business ventures and calculate the financial impact.
Quality Assurance & Regulatory Affairs
Wellspecters in Quality Assurance (QA), Regulatory Affairs (RA) and Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) make sure that we stay on top of our processes for quality, compliance, safety, health and environmental considerations, so that our users get top quality products that fulfill internal and external regulatory requirements.
Seda
Seda Bas, Head of Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs in Kazan, graduated with a MSc in Chemistry in Ankara and then worked several years in the Medical Device Industry in Türkiye. Today she’s proud that she’s been part of Wellspect in Türkiye since the very start.
Mehrdad
With a PhD in microbiology, Mehrdad Motamedi, Quality Manager at Wellspect, has the highest level of education in life sciences. In this article he explains what attracted him to Wellspect and what his job as a quality manager at a medical device company entails.
Elif
Don’t wait for revolutionary changes to alter the course of things! Small improvements by the day, can lead to big improvements over time. This is the motto of Elif Meraci, Safety and Health Specialist, at Wellspect’s second largest production site in Kazan, Turkey.

The Human Resources (HR) function is both a resource and support function involved in many aspects of our work-lifecycle. From onboarding to offboarding - and many steps along the way. HR also offers tools and activities for a healthy work environment to attract and retain qualified colleagues.
Cagla
Meet Cagla Mezhepoglu, our Human Resources Manager at Kazan Manufacturing Factory, who has two decades of diverse experience and a passion for creating inclusive and supportive workplaces.
Johan
Having had a few different assignments after high school, Johan Broman decided to study Human Resource Management at University. He joined Astra Tech, now Dentsply Sirona, in 2006. Today he is responsible for HR within Wellspect in the Nordic countries.
Linda

Global Marketing
The Global Marketing function consists of around 40 employees divided into four different departments including Corporate Marketing Communications, Global Medical Affairs, Global Platform Urology and Global Platform Enterology. It's a central hub with close connection to other departments and local markets.
Rachael

Global Sales

Meet Amy Mui, the driving force behind Wellspect's success in one of the world's largest Medtech markets. Based in vibrant Hong Kong, Amy leverages her fluency in Cantonese and English, along with her expertise as a licensed nurse, to represent Wellspect’s product brands in the region.
Mohammad
When living in Saudi Arabia, with several Middle Eastern markets in his portfolio, Mohammad Hamdani, Senior Sales Manager at Wellspect, was often asked about cultural barriers relating to the promotion of bowel and bladder products. Here Mohammad debunks such cultural stereotyping.
Sandrine

Information Systems/Information Technology
Digitalizing and serving with modern software and infrastructure solutions is the core of what our IS/IT department is dealing with on a day to day basis. IS/IT supports all of Wellspect with information systems and information technology. Providing everything from network infrastructure and hardware to software applications, the aim is to always create value in accordance with business and user needs.
Anders
Anders G Olsson has been with the company since 2011 and is now one of the managers at IS/IT, and responsible for all systems. Here he talks about his role, which means supporting not only production, but every department; R&D, Finance, QA/RA, Sales, Marketing… the lot!
Finance
The Finance function's main purpose is to ensure that all of Wellspect makes sound financial decisions. They are also responsible for the Facility and Site Support team at local headquarters in Sweden.
Stina
“When everything runs like clockwork and nobody notices us – that’s when we’re doing a great job”, says Stina Torstensson, Manager of Site Support at Wellspect Mölndal. She and her team strive to give every employee and every visitor pleasant and professional support at all times.
Legal
The legal function’s main purpose is to identify and manage legal risks within the company. On a more day to day basis, this for example means reviewing agreements and contracts and checking policies in order to support the business in various legal matters and to mitigate and minimize the consequences of identified legal risks.
Mats
As Senior Counsel at the Corporate Legal Department, Mats Tingstrand's role is broad and covers a lot of functions and tasks. He supports in legal matters ranging from pre-development work to R&D, to supply chain and operations, and from there to marketing and distribution – and everything in between.
